Hockey Clinics

Our primary clinic instructor is Dave Erickson. Hailing from British Columbia, Canada, Dave was born with hockey in his blood. He grew up playing AAA Hockey in the Kamloops Minor Hockey Association. His team won many tournaments and league championships over the years and Dave earned many individual accomplishments and awards. He began playing Junior Hockey when he was 18 with the Olds Grizzly’s Junior A team in Olds, Alberta. During his 3 seasons, Dave was twice named to the leagues All Star team and was the 2000-2001 recipient of the W.G. Scott Memorial Trophy as the League’s Top Defenseman. Following his stint with junior hockey, Dave received a scholarship to play D1 hockey for the University of Findlay. His college career was cut short after 3 seasons when the university disbanded the program in 2004. Since his tenure at UF, Dave has remained involved with the hockey community through coaching and teaching. For the past few years, Dave has been coaching and teaching the game to young hockey hopefuls with the Findlay Amateur Hockey Association (FAHA) and the Toledo Cherokee Hockey Club, where he has proven not only to develop, but challenge young players at each stage in their hockey lives. This past year, Dave took over the helm of the Findlay Grrrowl Junior A Hockey Club and guided them to the Knox Cup Playoff Championship. Dave was named the League’s “Coach of the Year” for the 2008 / 2009 season. He continues to guide the Grrrowl in his second season as head coach.
