Playmaker Sports USA LLC was started by a couple of well-traveled, seasoned veterans of amateur sports. You might have seen us standing at the glass in the rink or sitting in our folding chairs next to the field … we were the ones with our arms crossed and our eyebrows narrowed by confusion. We were the ones that were growing tired of watching our kids participate in unorganized events that cost us ridiculous amounts of money in the name of skill development. In 2009, we made a decision that we were mad as hell and we weren’t going to take it anymore. That’s when we said “let’s start a company that focuses on a few simple things:” 1) Competition - Have you ever gone to a tournament that when you got there you find out that “a couple of teams have pulled out at the last minute” and now there are only 4 teams in the event. To make matters worse, your team is scheduled to play Game #1 on Friday morning, Game #2 on Saturday afternoon and the finals are Sunday evening. You play your first game and it’s a gong show … 8 goal differential either way. You are saying to yourself, why are we wasting our time for this? Playmaker Sports USA LLC tournaments are invitational's. Our goal is to bring together similar competition for players to compete against similar skilled opponents. Although the occasional lopsided game does happen, we pride ourselves in matching skill sets to lesson that opportunity. Whether you are one of the top ranked team in the nation or a team that is ranked 100, we do our best to take the input of the coach as well as a teams current schedule to match you up in a tournament that will allow you to compete on a level playing field. 2) Downtime - So your first game is Friday morning and Game #2 is on Saturday afternoon, guess it’s time to party …. That may work for mom and dad, but what about the athlete in the family? Their coach (or hotel manager) has banned knee hockey in the hallway and swimming is out. I guess they can spend the day watching movies or re-runs on TV, but this it their 4th tournament of the year and they have seen everything that is available. Playmaker Sports USA LLC events are scheduled around the athlete in the family. If you play a Friday night game, expect a Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon / evening game to go along with it. Our clinics are the same way … you don’t pay us to watch your athlete stand in line and your athlete won’t get better standing still. We keep your athlete moving and learning through repetition. 3) Cost Containment - As seasoned veterans of amateur sports, our belief is that whatever disposable income a family has after chasing their athletes around the country these days should stay in their pocket, not ours. I know, I know, you have all heard the cliché that “we aren’t in this for the money” but really, “we aren’t in this for the money.” You won’t find any hidden fees associated with our events. You will NEVER be charged a “Gate Fee” to watch your player compete and teams will NEVER be charged an officiating fee after entering a tournament. Playmaker Sports USA LLC takes pride in determining the cost of an event and allowing teams to make an educated decision prior to adding the event to their calendars. |
