Hockey Tournaments

OK, someone needs to justify “Gate Fees” to us at Playmaker Sports USA LLC… Aren’t hockey tournaments expensive enough for your families?  It seems that “Gate Fees” are a growing trend within the tournament circuit and we don’t understand why teams continue to go to tournaments that charge family members to watch their players compete.  I guess it’s one thing if an association is running a tournament and using the proceeds to fund a scholarship program, but shouldn’t that be clearly addressed on the tournament application?  In 2008, at a tournament in Toronto, I got to the front door of the rink and had to pony up $150 in “Gate Fees” for my family to watch my son compete.  Another Dad on the team and I did a quick calculation and figured that the association collected about $80,000 from “Gate Fees” during the weekend.  You can’t tell me that the $1350 per team tournament entry fee didn’t more than cover the costs of the tournament.

 

Playmaker Sports USA LLC WILL NEVER CHARGE A “GATE FEE” for any of our tournaments or festivals.  We are very good at determining costs and we know that our sport is expensive enough without these additional costs.

3RD ANNUAL - This festival will celebrate hockey in its purest form; outside, in the elements, with plenty of fun and memories for the players.  Teams can sign up to play 1 game or 2 on the regulation size outdoor rink, complete with boards, glass and lights. 

Mites / Squirts - $235 per game

Pee Wee / Bantams - $265 per game

Midget / High School - $295 per game

Don’t worry parents, there is spectator seating outside or if you prefer to stay out of the elements, you can watch the game through the windows of  the warming building and have a cup of cocoa from the concession stand.

2012 Playmaker Cup

Ohio State Championship

March 9 - 11, 2012                                          Toledo, OH    

Minor year and  other “A” teams from around Ohio are invited to join us for the Ohio State Playmaker Cup Championship in Toledo.  This championship will be an excellent way for Pee Wee and Bantam A teams to end their season.  As always, our tournaments feature a 4 game guarantee and NO GATE FEES:

 

Pee Wee A teams will play 14-14-14 stop time periods with no curfew clock for $895.00.

Bantam A teams will play 16-16-16 stop time periods with no curfew clock for $995.00.

4TH ANNUAL - Tier II Birth Year teams from around the US and Canada are invited to participate in the 4th Annual Spring Rumble.  This tournament will feature a   4 game guarantee and competitive divisional alignments across 6 age divisions. 

Squirt AA Minor (2003) and Major (2002) teams will play 13-13-13 stop time periods, no curfew.  $845 US

Pee Wee AA Minor (2001) and Major (2000) teams will play 14-14-14 stop time periods, no curfew.  $895 US

Bantam AA Minor (1999) and Major (1998) teams will play 15-15-15 stop time periods, no curfew.  $945 US

By request, teams can choose to play in the Stanley (Gold) division or the Mason (Silver) division of play.  All divisions will play down to a Championship game.

5TH ANNUAL - Top Tier II Birth Year teams from around the US and Canada are invited to participate in the 5th Annual Rumble on the Rink Preseason Invitational Tournament.  This tournament will feature a 4 game guarantee and competitive divisional alignments across all age divisions.  Last year, we hosted 74 teams from 9 US States and the Province of Ontario in the largest and most competitive Tier II tournament held in the Midwest. 

Squirt AA Minor (2003) and Major (2002) teams will play 13-13-13 stop time periods, no curfew.  $1095 US

Pee Wee AA Minor (2001) and Major (2000) teams will play 14-14-14 stop time periods, no curfew.  $1195 US

Bantam AA Minor (1999) teams will play 15-15-15 stop time periods, no curfew.  $1295 US

Tournament games begin at 8:00 am Friday morning.

FALL 2012

September 21-23, 2012                                        Troy, MI

5TH ANNUAL - Top Tier II AA  ‘98 Birth Year teams from around the US and Canada are invited to participate in the 5th Annual 98 Rankings Rumble on the Rink Preseason Invitational Tournament.  Once again, teams will play a 2 game seeding round on Friday with the top 16 seeds playing down for the Rumble on the Rink banner.  Seeds 17-32 will play down for the Group II title.  Teams are guaranteed 4 games, finalists in both divisions will play 6.  Last year, we hosted 32 teams from 7 US States and the Province of Ontario in the largest and most competitive Tier II tournament held in the Midwest. 

Bantam AA Major (1998) teams will play 15-15-15 stop time periods, no curfew.  $1295 US

Tournament games begin at 8:00 am Friday morning.

2nd Annual  - Mid-level Tier II teams from around the US and Canada are invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Playmaker Sports USA Fall Classic.  This tournament was created to provide mid-level teams, not participating in the Rumble Series, a competitive preseason tournament to prepare for their upcoming seasons.  As with all Playmaker Sports USA events, this tournament will feature a 4 game guarantee, NO GATE FEES and NO REQUIRED HOTEL STAYS.    

Bantam AA (1998) and Bantam A (1999) teams will play 14-14-14 stop time periods, no curfew.  $1195 US

Pee Wee AA (2000) and Pee Wee A (2001) teams will play 13-13-13 stop time periods, no curfew. $1095 US

Squirt AA (2002) and Squirt A (2003) teams will play 12-12-12 stop time periods, no curfew. $995 US
